Riverland Room Rental Information
Riverland offers meeting and event spaces for community groups, organizations, and partners at our Austin, Albert Lea, and Owatonna campuses. Whether you are planning a training session, a board meeting, a performance, or a community event, we have a space that can work for you.
Plan ahead: submit your request at least two weeks before your event date. Requests received with less notice may not be able to be accommodated.

How to Rent a Room
Renting a space at Riverland takes five steps from request to confirmed reservation.
- 1 Submit the request form. Complete the Room Rental Request Form at least two weeks before your event date. All required fields must be filled out for your request to be considered.
- 2 Riverland reviews your request. A Riverland representative will check space availability, staffing needs, and any special approvals required, then follow up with you. Submitting the form does not confirm a reservation.
- 3 Sign your rental contract. If your request can be accommodated, Riverland will prepare a rental contract for your signature. Your requested date and time are not guaranteed until your contract is finalized and signed.
- 4 Provide proof of insurance. External organizations must submit a certificate of insurance that lists Riverland as an additional insured and meets 星空无限传媒 Statute coverage requirements. See insurance requirements for details.
- 5 Your reservation is confirmed. Once your contract is signed and insurance is on file, your reservation is complete. Riverland staff will coordinate room setup and any equipment or services you requested.
Rental Rates
Rental fees are based on the type of space reserved and the length of use. Each space group has a maximum rental fee cap, so you will never pay more than the maximum no matter how many hours you reserve. Availability and staffing requirements may affect final approval.

Rooms Available to Rent
Use the tables below to find a room that fits your group size and technology needs, then select that room on the request form. Capacities listed are maximums; your chosen setup style (classroom, horseshoe, theater style, and so on) may change how many seats fit comfortably.
Technology terms: "Zoom/dock plug-in" means you can connect your own laptop to the room display for Zoom or Teams meetings. "Zoom cart" is a mobile videoconferencing unit that can be added to the space on request. "Projector/screen/computer" means the room has built-in presentation equipment.

Locations, Spaces, and Setup Options
Available campus locations: Room rentals are available at Austin East, Austin West, Albert Lea, and Owatonna. Availability varies by location and normal building hours.
Types of spaces available: Options include conference rooms, multimedia classrooms, Zoom rooms, computer labs, a lecture hall in Albert Lea, theatre or gym space in Austin East, cafeterias, and other spaces as available.
Approvals and additional fees: Use of labs and other specialized areas may require additional approval and may include added fees based on usage and cleanup needs.

Insurance Requirements
All external organizations using Riverland facilities must provide a certificate of insurance that lists Riverland as an additional insured. Coverage levels must meet the requirements of 星空无限传媒 Statute. Your reservation cannot be finalized until your certificate of insurance is on file.

Riverland may offer limited sponsorship support for community events, programs, or initiatives that align with the college's priorities. Sponsorship requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. Consideration depends on factors such as community impact, audience reach, and available resources.

Room Rental FAQ
When is payment due?
Payment is due after the agreement has been signed by all parties. An invoice will be emailed once the contract is complete.
What payment methods are accepted?
Riverland accepts cash, check, or debit/credit card. Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
Is a deposit required to hold a reservation?
No. A deposit is not required.
How far in advance can I cancel?
Either party may cancel the agreement for any reason with 10 days written notice.
Is there a fee for canceling late?
No. Riverland does not currently charge a late cancellation fee.
Can renters bring their own food?
Yes. Renters may bring their own food, but they may not use the kitchen.
Is there a required caterer?
There is not a required caterer. Cedar Valley is often suggested when renters ask about catering options.
Is guest Wi-Fi available?
Yes. Guest Wi-Fi is available.
Are custodial services included?
Yes. Custodial services are included in the rental fee structure.
Is parking free?
Yes. Attendee parking is free at all campuses.
Does setup and teardown time count toward rental hours?
Yes. Renters are billed for the full time they are on campus, including setup and teardown. Please include arrival and departure times when making your request.
Who unlocks the building for after-hours events?
Maintenance staff will unlock the building for after-hours events.
Who should I contact for building or technology problems during my event?
During business hours, call 507-433-0644.
What are renters responsible for after using the facility?
Renters are expected to leave the facility clean and sanitary. If repairs, replacement items, or additional cleaning are needed, Riverland may invoice the renter for those costs.
